Sugar Cane growers urge the Government to instruct Mills to purchase their produce first

Mysuru, Nov 5(UNI) Karnataka State Sugar Cane Growers’ Association has appealed to the State Government to instruct Sugar Mills to purchase their produce first.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar here and held a meeting with him on Monday.
The growers alleged that “Bannari Sugar Factory is troubling the farmers by not buying their Sugar Cane at the right time but buying the Sugar Cane from other districts. This act makes farmers from Mandya District to wait for a long time. Though the State Government has instructed the Sugar factories to buy from local farmers, they are not following it."
