Sudhir Mishra’s modern take on ‘Devdas’ to release on Feb 16 next yr

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s modern take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel ‘Devdas’ will hit cinema screens on February 16 next year, trade sources said on Thursday.

Titled ‘Daas Dev’, Sudhir Mishra’s next directorial venture will feature actress Richa Chaddha as Paro, Aditi Rao Hyderi as Chandni (the modern version of Chandramukhi) and Rahul Bhatt as Dev.

Sources said ‘Daas Dev’ is set against the backdrop of politics.

‘Daas Dev’ will be the third remake of the 60s classical film ‘Devdas’, after ‘Devdas’ by Sanjay Leela Bhasali , featuring Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit Nene , and ‘Dev D’ by Anurag Kashyap, featuring Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechin.
