Sub-engg held taking bribe by MP:Lokayukta

Sagar, MP, June 3 (UNI) A sub-engineer of the Police Housing Corporation has been caught red-handed by Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta’s Special Police Establishment while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, Lokayukta sources said.
“Sub-engineer RK Pandey had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.32 lakh from contractor Devansh Kathal for clearing a bill of Rs 44 lakh for construction work done by him. The bribe amount demanded was three per cent of the payable amount,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta) KK Agrawal.
On the basis of the contractor’s complaint, Lokayukta police arrested Pandey while accepting the bribe last evening. He was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
