Students will suffer due to changes in norms for Students Credit Card: Kushwaha

Patna, Jul 14 (UNI) RLSP president and former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha today said that changes proposed to be made in norms for issuance of Students Credit Card would jeopardise the careers of large number of students studying in institutions outside Bihar.
Mr Kushwaha told media persons here that Nitish Kumar government had decided to effect changes in norms for Students Credit Card under which only such students would be eligible for availing the facilities of loan for studies in institutions which had been given minimum level of grade-A by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) or having Accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Students studying in institutions having given ranking by National Institutional Ranking Framework issued by Union Human Resources Development Ministry of Government of India would also be eligible to avail the facilities of loan, he stated.
RLSP leader said that the changes to be made in norms would adversely affect the careers of students studying in institutions outside state. Those who had applied for admission would also suffer as they would not get loans under the new norms, he said adding that Nitish Kumar government should either withdraw the proposed changes or defer it in larger interest of students.
