Students stage dharna opposing privatisation of midday meal scheme in AP

Kakinada, Jun 24 (UNI) Students Federation of India (SFI) on Monday staged dharna in front of the Collectorate here, opposing the move to hand over the midday meal scheme maintenance to Akshaya Patra, a private spiritual organisation .
They raised slogans demanding continuation of the present system of preparing the meal in the schools itself and serve the students in a transparent manner.
Later they called on the Joint Collector A Mallikharjuna in a delegation and presented a memorandum in support of their demand.
