Students protest over engineering exam results at Pune university

Pune, July 14 (UNI) Students from the engineering faculty of Savitribai Phule Pune University today staged a protest on campus after discrepancies were reported in the recently declared examination results.
Demanding a re-examination and the provision of a 'carry-on' facility to avoid losing an academic year over a single failed subject, the students gathered in front of the Vice-Chancellor's office.
Although they were initially assured a 10-minute meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, the students were not granted an audience. This led to frustration among the protestors, some of whom attempted to breach the barricades and enter the university building.
