Students briefed on cyber security

Kaithal, Oct 9 (UNI) The month of October is being celebrated as “Cyber Awareness Month” with the aim of preventing cyber crimes and making the general public aware of digital security. In this series, an awareness program was organized by Cyber Crime Kaithal Police Station at NIILM University. Addressing the students and staff in the program, SHO Police Station Cyber Crime PSI Shubhranshu said that in today's digital era, cyber crimes like online fraud, bank fraud, fake calls, hacking through links, social media misuse are increasing rapidly. In such a situation, awareness is the most effective way to prevent them.
He said that do not share OTP, bank details or personal information with any unknown person. Do not click on any suspicious link and maintain strong passwords on social media.
If cyber fraud occurs, do not panic, immediately call the helpline 1930 or contact the nearest cyber help desk. During the program, students were explained how to take precautions by giving real case studies. Information about new tactics adopted by cyber criminals was also given. Students asked questions related to cyber security, which were addressed on the spot.
