Strongly desire to bring World Cup glory to India: Abhishek Nain

By Rohit Kumar Mitra

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) With the Indian men's hockey team training hard on scoring field goals and strengthening the defence in the ongoing camp in Bengaluru, ace striker Abhishek Nain says the entire side is very keen on breaking a 50-year jinx and lifting the World Cup next year.
"Olympic gold is the ultimate prize, while the World Cup is the second most prestigious tournament. We have won it only once, and that too was 50 years ago. So we really want to win it," Nain told UNI in an interview on the sidelines of the sports ministry's weekly programme Fit India Sundays on Cycle, an initiative by union Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya to promote the cycling culture in India.
India's only success in the World Cup came in 1975 at Kuala Lumpur.
