Tokyo, May 25 (UNI) An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck southern Chiba Prefecture of Japan, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
The temblor occurred at 1520 hrs local time, with its epicenter at a latitude of 35.3 degrees north and a longitude of 140.3 degrees east, and at a depth of 40 km.
The quake, which was focused in southern Chiba Prefecture and struck at a depth of 40 kilometers, posed no risk of a tsunami, the agency said. There were no immediate reports of serious damage.
