Stray animal claims life of motorcyclist on Matour-Shimla highway

Dharamshala, July 11 (UNI) The stray animal menace claimed the life of a 30-year-old motorcyclist in a tragic road accident on the Matour-Shimla four-lane National Highway near Daulatpur in Kangra district on Thursday.
Kangra Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manoj Dhiman told UNI that the victim, identified as Abhishek Kumar (30), a resident of Rajiana, was riding his motorcycle on the Matour-Shimla National Highway when a stray animal suddenly came onto the road. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, he lost control of the motorcycle, which skidded on the road. He sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
The SDPO said the deceased was employed at the Kangra branch of ICICI Bank and was scheduled to get engaged on Sunday.
