Stop harassing Congress workers, Sravan tells DGP

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) A delegation of Telangana Congress leaders met DGP Mahender Reddy on Friday, complaining of unnecessary police harassment to Congress leaders and workers.
Led by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Spokesperson Dr Sravan Dasoju, the delegation comprised M Kodanda Reddy, Kuna Srisailam Goud, Pavan Kumar Reddy and other senior leaders.

The Congress leaders urged the DGP to give directions to police officials to stop harassing the party leaders.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Mr Sravan alleged that immediately after the dissolution of Assembly, caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, in connivance with some senior police officials, started targeting the Congress leaders and cadre.
He said KCR wanted to terrorise the Congress cadre, so as to influence the next elections.

Mr Sravan pointed out that ex-MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy was arrested in a fake case of human trafficking. Similarly, another ex-MLA Gandra Venkatarama Reddy and his brother G Gopal Reddy were implicated in a fake case of keeping illegal weapons.
A fake case was booked against Kodangal's ex-MLA A Revanth Reddy in Jubilee Hills Society land scam. One more former MLA Srisailam Goud was implicated in a fake case under the SC, ST Atrocities Act.
Instead of following the guidelines of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), it seems that the police are following the guidelines being dictated by KCR, he alleged.
