"Even though, the rate of interest is being reduced, the people of the country have faith in Indian Banking system, but the government is trying to discourage Indian public to move away from banks and invest their money into share market which never guarantees safety of one's investment", he added.

Mr Dixit said that mounting NPA, reducing interest rate, consolidation, merger and closure of banks were nothing but well thought move of the government to hand over the banks to the very corporate who have plundered more than Rs 11 lakh crores of NPA.
