State Junior Athletics Championship postponed after student receives head injury

Kottayam, Oct 5 (UNI) The 63rd Kerala State Junior Athletics Championship underway at Municipal Stadium, Pala, has been postponed after a plus one student received serious head injury when he was accidentally hit by a hammer thrown by a competitor.
Abheel Johnson, a student of St.Thomas Higher Secondary School was struck on the head when one of the competitors threw the hammer, a heavy iron ball, weighing about three kg, on Friday, official sources said on Saturday.
He was rushed to the government medical college hospital here and underwent an emergency surgery.
