Stage set for swearing-in-ceremony of Omar Abdullah as the CM of J&K.

Srinagar, Oct 15 (UNI) The stage is set for the swearing-in-ceremony of National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir amid tight security arrangements put in place at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) Srinagar on Tuesday.
The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will administer the oath of office to Omar and his council of ministers at 11.30 AM at SKICC on Wednesday.
“All arrangements have been put in place with security being tightened in and around the SKICC in Srinagar ahead of tomorrow's swearing-in ceremony of Omar Abdullah as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir”, officials said.
The Lt Governor extended an official invitation to Omar after his party staked the claim to form the government yesterday.
After the swearing-in-ceremony the Chief Minister will chair a meeting of all administrative secretaries in the civil secretariat around 3 PM, an official spokesman said.
Omar is likely to be presented guard of honour at the Civil Secretariat as Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, National Conference has invited about 50 dignitaries including Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Parliament Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, AICC Chief Malikarjun Kharge, Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerji, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal and others.
The Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav reached Srinagar on Tuesday to attend the swearing-in-ceremony on Wednseday.
