SSI murder case: Two suspects remanded to judicial custody

Kanyakumari, Jan 16 (UNI) Two suspected Islamic extremists, who were arrested for gunning down a Special Sub Inspector of Police (SSI) Y Wilson (57) at the Tamil Nadu-Kerala inter-State border check post at Kaliyakkavilai in Kanyakumari on January 8, were remanded to judicial custody on Thursday.
The suspects A Abdul Shameem (32) and M Thoufique (28) were nabbed at Udupi Railway Station on Tuesday in a joint operation by Tamil Nadu and Kerala Police with the help of Karnataka Police.
They were brought to Kanyakumari this morning on a transit remand granted by an Udupi Court. The duo was grilled by senior Intelligence and police officials at Thuckalay police station, guarded by Special Police Commandos.
