SSA teachers strike: CPI-M, PDF, DPN assures support for regularisation, implementation of 7th pay commission

Srinagar, Sep 12 (UNI) CPI-M senior leader Mohammad Yousuf Targami, PDF chairman Mohammad Yaseen and DPN Democratic Party Nationalist head Ghulam Hassan Mir, on Wednesday came in support of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers, who are on indefinite hunger strike for the past ten days, demanding their regularization and implementation of 7th pay commission.
The leaders visited the protesting teachers at Partap Park near here and assured them their full support, a joint statement issued by them said this afternoon.
Thousands of teachers in the state, engaged under the SSA are on an indefinite strike to protest against the government for 'adopting' delaying tactics in implementing benefits of the 7th pay commission to them and 'delinking' their salaries from the component paid by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD).
