Srinagar-Leh highway again closed after reopening for few hours

Srinagar, Nov 21 (UNI) Scores of vehicles were stranded at Zojila Pass as the 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh National Highway, connecting ladakh region with the rest of the valley, was again closed due to slippery road conditions after reopening for few hours on Wednesday.
“We allowed the traffic on Srinagar-Leh highway this morning after remaining suspended for two days due to heavy snowfall and slippery road conditions,” a traffic police official said.
However, he said the road again became slippery this afternoon due to sub-zero temperature following which the highway was again closed for traffic. “Scores of vehicle which were stranded at Zojila, were being guided to safer places,” he said.
