Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal won toss to send India batting first in rain delayed first Test match at Eden Gardens here today but unfortunately just after the delivery of one ball, play was again stopped due to rain.
Play, which was scheduled to begin at 09 30 hours, started at 13 30 hours as first four hours play was washed out due to drizzle forcing the CAB to keep the filed and pitch
on cover since yesterday.
After several inspections by the umpires and match commissioners and CAB president Sourav Ganguly, they finally decided to start the play from 13 30 hours with altogether
55 overs for the remaining day.
