SRAI demands action against culprits who stripped and thrashed a woman for practising witchcraft

Ambassa(Tripura), Nov 20(UNI) The Science And Rationalists Association of India(SRAI) on Wednesday condemned the incident in which a woman was stripped and beaten by a group of villagers accusing her of witchcraft and demanded administration's intervention at Diraichara in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai.
On November 13 last some 30 men and women attacked one widow Manjurani Datta(48) and stripped her and beat her mercilessly.
When her son Pankaj Datta(25) rushed to save her they also beat him black and blue.
