Spiritual Guru Umar Alisha receives

Kakinada, Dec 10 (UNI) Spiritual guru Dr Umar Alisha, chief of Viswa Vignana Adhyatmika Peeth, Pithapuram, on Sunday received the prestigious Mother Teresa Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition with his services to the society Mother India International, an NGO, felicitated Dr Alisha with the coveted honour, during a function held here to mark the organisation's 24th anniversary.

JNTUK Rector and In-charge Vice Chancellor Prof Poornanandam, who was the chief guest, presented the award.

Chikkala Ramachandrarao, MLC and former Minister, who was the guest of honour, gave away the Mother Teresa International Awards to 30 distinguished people from various walks of life, who did commendable service to the society.
Rural MLA Pilli Ananthalakshmi presented excellence award in Gymnastics to Ganta Pushyami Nagasai, in Karate to Medisetti Saidurga Nishit.
Pilli Tirupatirao, founder chairman of the Mother India International, presided over the function.

Secretary Gatti Satyanarayana, while welcoming the guests, said the organisation had proposed to construct an old age home with the liberal financial support from the philanthropists.

Dr Sirisha acted as moderator. Dr K G Srinivasarao, Pammina Sitharam, Tolem Venkataramana, Pilli Srinivasarao, Siddhi Venkatrao and Kunisetti Nilareddy, Reception Committee members, attended the event.
