New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) National Capital Region received light rains on Friday, bringing the mercury level down by several notches.
The sky was partly cloudy through the day in the national capital while maximum temperature was recorded at 37.4 degrees C, three points below season's average here.
Average Rainfall recorded in the national capital was 2.44 mm between 0830 and 1730 hours, while maximum rain was recorded at Palam which was 7.6 mm here.
Relative humidity at 1730 hours was 100 per cent, as per the Met office.
The rain although triggered traffic snarls at some important junctions in the city.
The sky will remain partly cloudy towards the night, as per the Met office.
However, the air quality in the city was poor with an index value of 267 at 2000 hours , as per the CPCB.
For Saturday, the weatherman has forecast light rain or thundershowers with gusty winds, while minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to hover around 24 and 37 degrees C respectively, the weatherman added.
The minimum temperature this morning settled at 24.6 degrees C , two points lesser than normal for the season.
