Speed up establishment of PGI Satellite Centre at Ferozepur : Sukhbir Badal

Chandigarh, Jun 24 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and Ferozpur MP Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday urged Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to speed up establishment of the 100 bedded PGI Satellite Centre in the border district of Ferozepur.
The SAD chief, who met Dr Vardhan and also submitted a memorandum to him on this issue, informed the Union Minister that the project had got mired in bureaucratic hurdles. He gave the example of the Satellite Centre for Sangrur which had already taken off despite being passed along with the Ferozpur Centre.
Stating that the project had become a casualty of procedural wrangling, Mr Badal urged the Union Minister to take necessary steps to lay the foundation stone of the project at the earliest. “Following this work on the project should start without any further delay”, he added.
