Special CBI Court sentences a former SHO to Life imprisonment in a fake encounter case

Patna, Oct 8 (UNI) A special CBI court on Tuesday sentenced Mukhlal Paswan, former Station House Officer (SHO) of Barhara police station in Purnia district of Bihar to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh in a fake encounter case.
Additional District and Session Judge of special CBI court Avinash Kumar, after hearing arguments of defence and prosecution, awarded life imprisonment to Paswan and also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh as he was found guilty in a fake encounter case.
Paswan was declared guilty under sections 302, 201, 193, and 182 of the Indian Penal Code(IPC). The convict would have to undergo additional imprisonment of six months if failed to pay the fine.
