Speaker adjourns the House to Monday defying the Governors Direction

Bengaluru, July 19 (UNI) Defying the Karnataka Governor's directive to seek the confidence vote in the floor of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly before end of the day’s proceedings were ended, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy prayed to the Speaker to put it for voting and the House was adjourned to Monday.

The Speaker Ramesh Kumar, who was in the Chair, inclined that the process on Confidence motion was incomplete as the Congress members insisted to give other members more time to speak on the motion.

The Opposition BJP members, who were in full strength of 105 MLAs in the House, however strongly made plea with the Speaker to put the motion for voting tonight itself and promised to co-operate with the Chair on the issue.

While pleading the Chair seeking more time to speak on the motion of confidence, CLP leader Siddaramaiah, and the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy agreed to co-operate to complete the process on confidence motion on Monday.

With the Chief Minister expressed his desire to answer the issues raised by the members on the Confidence Motion and more number of the JD(S) and the Congress members strongly pleaded with the Speaker to give them more time, the Speaker Ramesh Kumar had adjourned the House to Monday.
