SP favoured destination for BSP leaders in UP

Lucknow Jan 20 (UNI) Samajwadi Party is fast emerging as most favoured destination for the Bahujan Samaj Party leaders and other non BJP political leaders.
The BSP had witnessed similar exodus in March 2017 soon after the UP assembly elections where the tally of the Mayawati’s party was reduced to 19. The BSP a year later in March 2018 stemmed the tide of exodus by offering its support to the Samajwadi Party in the byelections to the three Lok Sabha seat Gorakhpur, Phulpur, Kairana and one Noorpur assembly seat in Bijnor. The SP won all the four byelections.
The success of the SP candidates in byelections laid the foundation of the prepoll alliance of the two parties for the May 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The alliance failed to deliver and collapsed a week after the Lok Sabha elections were over.
