Southern Railway bags ‘SKOCH Silver Award’ for response to COVID-19

Chennai, Jan 18 (UNI) The Southern Railway has won SILVER in the prestigious SKOCH Awards under the category of Excellence in Response to COVID-19.

In a press release here on Monday, B.Guganesan, Chief Public Relations Officer, Southern Railways said participation for the SKOCH award was initiated by the Commercial branch of Southern Railway, which filed exhaustive documentation detailing various activities undertaken in response to COVID-19. A presentation was also made elaborating Southern Railway’s well-devised strategies and multifarious efforts during COVID-19 involved in running of 507 Shramik specials, freight services and timetabled parcel services for transportation of essential commodities, Special trains to important destinations, refurbishing coaches into isolation facilities, in-house making of PPEs, hand sanitizers, masks and various innovative prototypes.

Gadag, April 25 (UNI) In a fiery campaign speech at Gajendragad in Gadag district late on Wednesday night, former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP candidate from the Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency Basavaraj Bommai challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to disclose and distribute his alleged "benami assets" before proposing the redistribution of the nation’s property.
