Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Aug 15 2016 8:51PM Southern Naval command celebrates 70th Independence dayKochi, Aug 15(UNI) Southern Naval Command celebrated the 70th Independence Day of the Nation with a Ceremonial Parade reviewed by Vice-Admiral A R Karve, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command. While addressing the parade he reminded all present that the fruits of independence being enjoyed today, were the result of great sacrifices made by country's freedom fighters, who ensured that India was freed of centuries of subjugation. He also reiterated the fact that preservation of the hard earned freedom for the last seventy years was no mean task, particularly in the unstable security environment and was primarily due to the martyrs who laid their lives both uniformed as well as civilian.
