Kolkata, Jul 24 (UNI) Thespian Soumitra Chatterjee, film makers Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Anurag Kashyap, Aparna Sen among others 49 artists, intellectuals and social activists shoot a joint letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention to end mob lynching in the name of Jay Shree Ram and hate crimes across India.
Theater personality Kaushik Sen, one of the signatories of the lengthy letter on July 23, 2019, said they wanted the Prime Minister must take initiative actively against the hate crime razing across India targeting the minority and poor people.
" We want our PM must take real action to end the hate crime in the name of Jay Shree Ram and mere assurances on the floor of Parliament would not help the end of hate crime," Sen told a private television channel today.
