Sonia, Rahul out on bail, says Bommai; Shivakumar hits back

Sonia, Rahul out on bail, says Bommai; Shivakumar hits back

Bengaluru, Oct 2 (UNI) Refuting the corruption allegations levelled against him, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai on Sunday said the whole Congress party including Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are out on bail and called PayCM campaign against him as an initiative without evidence.
"Today is Gandhi Jayanti, why should I talk about fake Gandhis? The whole Congress party is out on bail - Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and DK Shivakumar are out on bail," he told reporters here.
"No allegations against me are true. I have challenged them to produce evidence. The QR code campaign is demoniac design. It is politically-motivated. There must be an inquiry launched into many scams that happened during the Congress rule," Bommai said.
In reply to it, Karnataka Congress president Shivakumar reminded that former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa also is on bail. "Yes I am on bail. So does Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Dozens of them (BJP leaders) also are on bail. Doesn't Yediyurappa have a case against him? Bommai has booked cases against me. Let him send me to Parapanna Agrahara (central jail), I will take some rest," he said.
The tug-of-war between Congress and BJP erupted after PayCM posters surfaced at prominent places of Bengaluru city. The posters, which are akin to PayTM wallets, depict Bommai's face in the middle of a QR code with the message '40 per cent accepted here'.
A video of the same had gone viral after Congress Youth President BV Srinivas posted it on his Twitter handle.
