Sonia, Manmohan pay homage to Rajiv on death anniv

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were among those who paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 27th death anniversary on Monday.
Dr Singh, Ms Gandhi, Rahul and Priyanka paid floral tributes to the Congress leader at Vir Bhumi , the memorial of the late Prime Minister.
Also among those who paid tributes to the former Prime Minister were former president Pranab Mukherjee, Priyanka's husband Robert Vadra and former Union minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
On the occasion, Congress president Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to pay a heartfelt tribute to his late father.
'My father taught me that hate is a prison for those who carry it. Today, on his death anniversary, I thank him for teaching me to love and respect all beings, the most valuable gifts a father can give a son.
Rajiv Gandhi, those of us that love you hold you forever in our hearts,' Rahul tweeted.
