New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, on Monday condoled the passing away of seer of Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkuru, Shri Shivakumara Swamiji.
In her condolence message, Ms Gandhi hailed Swamiji for his profound scholarship and spiritual guidance to the Lingayat community.
"Swamiji was a towering figure of inspiration and guidance to the Lingayat community, not only for his deep spiritualism and profound scholarship, but also for his enormous contribution to promote education from the primary to college level through the Sri Siddaganga Education Society Trust that he founded, providing quality education with ethical and moral values to generations of young people," she said.
