New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) Citing family issues, Solicitor-General Ranjit Kumar, today resigned from his post, a source in the Law Ministry said. Mr Kumar, who was appointed as the Solicitor-General in the Central government from 7 June, 2014, for a period of three years, continued his second term for four months 13 days, but resigned today from his post, the source added. When contacted by UNI for his reaction, Mr Kumar did not respond to calls and text messages. In June, former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, had also stepped down on the completion of his three-year term, citing personal reasons and a desire to return to private practice. "I have resigned only because there are certain family issues, which I need to attend to", Mr Kumar told news channel CNN."I need to spend more time at home.... that is the only reason for my resignation".
