New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) Soil collected from 11 places in Delhi have been sent in brass urns to Ayodhya for the ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony of the Sri Ram temple, foundation for which will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5, said Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Friday.
Water of rivers and soil of holy places across the country is being collected for the ceremony.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, which is overseeing the constriction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, has confirmed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the proposed temple on August 5
VHP International working president advocate Alok Kumar and Delhi President Kapil Khanna, during an event here, worshiped clay-filled brass urns with floral aksh tilak and sent to Ayodhya.
Mr Alok Kumar told reporters here that the VHP's Delhi unit collected the soil from the Siddha Peetha Kalka ji, ancient Bhairav temple Purana Quila, Gurdwara Shishganj Chandni Chowk, Gauri Shankar Temple Chandni Chowk, Shri Digambar Jain Lal Temple Chandni Chowk, Ancient Hanuman Temple Connaught Place.
The sacred soil was also collected from the ancient Shiva Navagraha Temple Connaught Place, the ancient Kali Mata Temple, Bangla Sahib Connaught Place, Sri Lakshmi Narayan Temple - Birla Temple, Lord Valmiki Temple - Temple Road and Badri Bhagat Jhandewalan Temple, Karol Bagh.
VHP's Delhi unit's working president, Vagish Issar and Regional Organising Secretary Mukesh Khandekar were also present along with many prominent officials during the holy exercise.
UNI RSA SB 1934
