Social reforms and environment protection are prime agenda of Bihar govt. :Nitish

Patna, Jan 26 (UNI) Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today said that his government was committed for social reforms and to protect the environment.
After unfurling of tricolor by an eighty year old dalit, Jhapsi Mahto, during the Republic day function at Machchariya village under Daniyawaan block of Patna district, Mr Kumar said that following sincere efforts of government, the green cover of the state has increased to 15 per cent which was only 9 per cent at the time of bifurcation of the state.
The government has planned to plant 8.5 crore saplings to further increase the green cover. He said that climate oriented farming was being promoted to improve the conditions of the farmers.
