Social impact study on SilverLine (K-Rail) project begins

Kannur, Jan 21 (UNI) An NGO named Kerala Volunteer Health Service (KVHS) began the social impact study on the project at Kandankali village near Payyanur in this district of the proposed SilverLine semi high speed rail corridor project under the Kerala rail Development Corporation Limited (K-Rail), on Friday.
The social impact study has been arranged by the government ahead of acquiring land for the proposed rail project.
The study will determine the details of the rehabilitation package including compensation besides the numbers of families that have to be evacuated, the number of people whose livelihood has to be ensured and houses and buildings that have to be demolished.
