Srinagar, Jan 21 (UNI) World famous ski resort of Gulmarg and other upper reaches received fresh snowfall, while rain lashed plains in Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, bringing down the maximum temperature.
However, the night temperature improved at majority of the places in the valley and settled several degrees above normal due to overcast conditions.
A Met department spokesperson told UNI that widespread moderate rain and snow would occur during the next 48 hours in Kashmir valley under the influence of a Western Disturbance (WD), which is active in the region. “The weather will remain wet till Saturday under the influence of this WD, which originated from the Arabian Sea and entered the region though Afghanistan and Pakistan,” he added.
