Smart policing aimed to enhance capabilities at grass root level: ADGP

Srinagar, Jun 20 (UNI) Asserting that smart policing is aimed to enhance the capabilities of police forces to deliver efficiently at the grass root level, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Trainings) Navin Agawal said that basic training needs to be revised so as to meet the changing expectations of the people and to develop a Smart Police in the State.
Mr Agawal, while chairing the first meeting of the committee of senior police officers constituted for changing expectation to develop Smart Policing at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today, said the concept touches every area of policing to improve public service, besides strengthening police public relations.
He said in order to introduce smart policing in Jammu and Kashmir, it was felt that basic training needs to be revised so as to meet the changing expectations of the people and to develop a Smart Police in the State.
