SL's economic confidence index plummets

Colombo, July 5 (UNI) A "Mood of the Nation" poll conducted in June shows that the approval rating of the Sri Lankan government has dropped from 10 per cent in January to 3 per cent now.
"No one has rated Sri Lanka’s economic condition as excellent: 1.8 per cent rated it as good and 1.3 per cent rated it as getting better. The resulting score was a (-) 96. This rating was (-) 83 in January 2022," The Island newspaper on Tuesday quoted the survey by Verite Research public opinion as saying.
The poll assessed the approval, satisfaction and confidence of the nation in relation to the government, the country and the economy.
