SKM defers tractor march, asks govt to respond to demands by Dec 4

SKM defers tractor march, asks govt to respond to demands by Dec 4

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Saturday deferred their tractor march to Parliament scheduled for November 29, the first day of Winter Session.
After a meeting on Saturday, the SKM announced that they are postponing their tractor march to parliament, and a decision will be taken on December 4. He said adding that government needs to respond to their demands by then. The protesting farmers groups also said that government needs to get back to the dialogue table.
Announcing the decision to postpone the tractor march, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rajveer Singh Jadaun announced that the march was postponed, not called off.
"We will have our next meeting on December 4, we will wait till then for the PM to reply to our letter," Singh said.
SKM leaders said the decision to postpone the tractor march was taken as government decided to repeal the Farm Laws.
"Government will have to return to the dialogue table and talk to SKM. MSP is the most important issue, without MSP, Morcha would not return," he said.
"Government will have to talk to us on the on issues like death of farmers during agitation, cases against farmers, and the Lakhimpur incident where cases are being filed against farmers. We do not agree with government's announcements, come to dialogue table, and find a respectable solution," the BKU leader said.
"We will meet again on December 4 and decide the future course," he added.
The announcement came on a day when Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar urged the farmers to return, as the Parliament is set to take up a bill to repeal the Farm Laws.
Winter Session of Parliament starts from November 29.
The Bill to repeal the three Farm Laws has been listed in Lok Sabha for Monday.
