New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Wednesday attacked the BJP-led government at the Centre over Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar informing the Lok Sabha that the government has no record of farmers' deaths during the farm agitation.
In a statement issued here, the farmer's body, which is spearheading the farmer agitation, said "SKM condemns the response of Government of India in Parliament saying that it has no information about the deaths in farmers movement and therefore, the question of financial assistance does not arise! SKM reiterates its demand for compensation and rehabilitation of the kin of more than 689 ryots in the ongoing agitation."
It further accused the BJP government of attempting to divide the farmer unions by not re-initiating a formal dialogue and not responding formally to the letter sent by SKM, reminding the government about the pending demands.
