Six militants arrested in crackdown across Manipur

Imphal, Feb 11 (UNI) Manipur Police and security forces arrested six active cadres of proscribed militant outfits in separate operations across the state and outside Manipur, while also recovering a stolen vehicle from Tengnoupal district.
Three of those arrested were allegedly involved in a recent bomb blast at Lilong Chajing under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district, police said.
In a separate operation the same day, security forces arrested another suspected cadre of a proscribed outfit.

No infiltrators should be allowed to contest Meghalaya’s GHADC polls, says BJP

Shillong, Mar 12 (UNI) The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said that it “stands solidly” with the indigenous communities of Meghalaya, even as it demanded that “no infiltrators” should be allowed to contest the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
BJP Meghalaya President, Rikman G. Momin, said that the party leadership in the centre has also expressed deep concern over the recent violence linked to a controversial notification barring non-tribals from contesting the GHADC polls.
