Islamabad, Aug 10 (UNI) At least six people were killed and ten injured in a blast on Monday in Chaman city of Pakistan’s restive province Balochistan, bordering Afghanistan.
Officials said an improvised bomb planted on a motor cycle exploded targeting a vehicle which was carrying anti-narcotic force personnel. Although the target seemed to be the vehicle carrying anti-narcotics personnel, six passersby were killed and ten wounded.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
Chaman, where the explosion took place, is located on the Durand line across the Kandahar Province
of Afghanistan.
Balochistan, bordering Afghanistan, is rich in minerals. However, its population complains of discrimination
by Pakistan and says that they do not get their fair share of its mineral wealth.
Security forces cordoned off the entire area and injured were admitted to hospital.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan strongly condemned the act while Interior minister Ejaz Shah said such
attacks were aimed at spreading fear among the people.
