New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will undertake a-three day visit to Pampanga in Philippines for attending the 4th Asian Defence Ministers Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus). “The Defence Minister will leave on October 23rd morning for ADMM-Plus meeting and will return on October 25th. Lots of bilateral meetings are scheduled to happen during her visit to Philippines,” official sources told UNI. It would be her maiden foreign visit after assuming charge of defence ministry on September 7. The ADMM-Plus was created on five areas of practical cooperation to pursue under this new mechanism, namely maritime security, counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, peacekeeping operations and military medicine. The ADMM-Plus countries include ten ASEAN Member States, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and eight Plus countries, namely Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, ROK, Russian Federation, and the United States.
