Sinha warns of strict action in case of unnecessary delay in online land mutation

Patna, Jan 17 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha today warned of strict action against revenue officials found deliberately delaying online land mutation (dakhil-kharij) cases, terming such conduct as dereliction of duty and a violation of citizens’ rights.
Sinha said here that passing orders promptly in objection free cases is mandatory and any unwarranted delay would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He pointed out that delays in land mutation prevent updating of land records, depriving raiyats of benefits under government schemes, bank loans and other statutory facilities. This is not mere negligence but a serious offence against the system, he asserted.
Taking a tough stand on irregularities and delays in the disposal of online land mutation cases despite repeated instructions, fresh directives have been issued to ensure strict compliance with rules.
