Guwahati, Feb 14 (UNI) Top seed star shuttler P V Sindhu started her campaign on a bright note winning back to back two matches here on Thursday in the ongoing 83rd senior national badminton championship progressing to semi-final in the women's singles.
The Olympic and world championship silver medallist Sindhu thrashed Malvika Bansod of Nagpur in straight games 21-11, 21-13 to end the game in just 35 minutes in the pre-quarter-final match while in the quarter-final she edged out Riya Mookherjee 21-16, 21-7 to enter semi-finals.
Asian Junior championship and runners-up here in 2017 Lakshya Sen defeated Ansal Yadav 21-11, 21-8 to enter the quarter-final and next will take challenge against Aryaman Tandon.
Tandon has reached last eight by virtue of luck. Tandon after losing the first game 16-21 was leading 8-1 in the second game, but Sameer was retired hurt.
