Sikkim Preparing for possible Corona 3rd Wave: Dr Pempa Bh DG

Gangtok, Jul 30 ( UNI) Sikkim is getting ready to fight against the third wave of Corona.
In addition to the Covid dedicated hospital in the capital, another one is being constructed for South & West, at Karfectar Jorethang, at the behest of Chief Minister PS Tamang.
In the 3rd wave children would be more prone to it, the Paediatric ward in the Hospital is being upgraded. We are focusing on 5 major activities as per the guidelines of the Govt of India, the Paediatric unit for all the Districts. And we are going to build a Centre of Excellence of Paediatrics. The hospital will also be equipped with Information System. Manpower has to be prepared also, steps are underway,’ said Dr Pempa Tshering, Secretary Health. 97 of State patients suffered from Delta Variant in June as per the Report from Kalyani hospital, West Bengal in July ’21.
