Gangtok,Nov 14 ( UNI ) Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has greeted the children on the occasion of the Children’s Day, the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
“As we celebrate Pandit Nehru’s birth anniversary, it is also obligatory on our part to evaluate our efforts and vision for our future generation. We must visualise future India in children and chart our plans and action to realise the dream we foresee as ‘New India’. The institutions of learning must develop a robust mechanism with a vision and purpose to empower children of the country through cutting edge competitive education, which would ultimately take the country forward in the path of development and prosperity.
As we fondly remember ‘Chacha Nehru’, I urge the children to prepare themselves for the greater challenges that the 21st Century world pose in front of us. In order to fulfil the expectations the country has on its young generation, I appeal the children to gear up for the responsibility and role to transform our country as true global leader of 21st Century. Dear Children! Remain focussed on studies and inculcate the habit of cleanliness, hygiene and healthy living,” the Governor said.
