Gangtok,Aug 15 ( UNI) Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad said 15 th August is a historical and dignified day.to every Indian, whether staying in the country or abroad.
' This is recorded as a celebration of our territorial sovereignty in our calendar. We had achieved invaluable gift of our independence on this day in 1947,' he said .
' Today marks the end of British rule and the establishment of a free and independent India. Let us pay tributes to the brave and gallant freedom fighters whose sacrifice secured us freedom from foreign rule.’
