Sikkim Banks join all India day-long strike

Gangtok,Oct 22 (UNI) Banks in Sikkim remained closed on Tuesday following a strike called by All India Bank Employees’ Association and Bank Employees Federation of India.
Common people faced inconvenience as ATMs did not disburse cash.
The strike was called to protest against possible privatization of banks.
The employees took out demonstrations and chanted slogans ‘Stop merger of Banks' 'Stop Banking Reforms' 'Stop Attacks on Jobs & Job Security.’
The employees said the government should ensure recovery of bad loans and take stringent action on defaulters.

State govt enhances DA for Sikkim govt employees & DR for pensioners
