Amritsar, Oct 22 (UNI) Punjab Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday announced that he would adopt the families of 61 people mowed to death by a speeding train near Jaura Phatak on Saturday.
Mr Sidhu, who is also the legislator from Amritsar (East), said he would be taking care of the bereaved families till his death. He further claimed that he would ensure that at least one member of the household gets a job.
The Minister said he and his wife had decided that they would undertake full responsibility of the study and upbringing of the children of the victim families besides those people in their old age who had lost their sole bread winners.
